Seasonal item releases can help keep brands exciting to their consumers. Personal research and large-scale case studies are what bring these ideas to life. With this research, I developed an early draft for a possible line of clothing that is seasonally appealing.
Seasonal Aesthetics
Fashion Analysis
This analysis focuses on five days in September and compares them to five days in October. The recorded differences reflect aesthetic choices based on seasonal changes. These findings are one part of the design process that identifies the relationship between seasonal aesthetics and consumer reasoning.
In the first week, consistent themes that I noticed were warmer tones and heavy contrast. I could suggest that the sunnier season had some influence on the color choices. The material of the clothes throughout the week includes looser and thinner fabrics. On cooler days I chose to wear thicker pants. If I were to develop a line based on these outfits, I would lean towards earthy tones with an accent of sunset shades.
For the next week, I journaled my outfits for early mid-October. This time of year for me highlights a significant shift between seasons. Noticeably, during these days there is also a shift in the tone of color. These outfits showcase colder themes with a heavy use of blue and white. There is a slight blush in the few pinks sprinkled throughout, and this could be an ode to the remnants of a warmer time. There was a large focus on layering and articles that could accommodate that.
